Linda has been creating since childhood but her love affair with decorative painting began when a friend introduced her to this art form in 1980. Since then she has taken classes and studied with some of the best teachers in the industry, always striving to better her skills. Linda began teaching around her kitchen table in 1982. Designing and creating art using traditional folk art techniques coupled with her love of flowers provides inspiration as she paints strokework with a contemporary flair. Acrylics are her medium of choice but she enjoys dabbling in oils, watercolor, color pencils, and pen and ink. There is always something new to learn and try in the world of art! Her work has been published in PaintWorks, Quick and Easy Painting, The Decorative Painter, Art Apprentice Online E-zine and Interactive Artists Magazine. Internationally she has been featured in Paint Friends and JDPA’s Decorative Painting magazine.
Linda found the Society of Decorative Painters in 1986 and has served on the Board of Directors of the Society of Decorative Painters as a Board Member at Large for two terms, Recording Secretary and President in 2018-2019. She earned her Certified Decorative Artist in 2007 and one the highlight of her life was when she passed her Master Still Life in 2020, achieving her long-term goal of becoming a Master Decorative Artist. She is a member of Silver State Decorative Artists in Las Vegas, Boots and Brushes in San Antonio, Texas and Northern California Decorative Artists in Castro Valley, California where she has served as President and Treasurer. Linda is honored to be a DecoArt Helping Artist.
Linda loves to teach, sharing her passion and the joy of painting with students, other artists and her community. She believes anyone can learn to paint if there is a desire to learn and practice. She keeps a busy schedule teaching workshops for groups and regional and national conventions all over the country. She enjoys teaching in-person and Zoom classes and seminars. This is a way for her to continue teaching and stay connected with her students and friends.
